Same price at Safeway here, but they had some good looking whole and shank half hams for $ .95/lb. this week. I'm doing a Turkey for Christmas, but picked up a ham anyway. No room for it whole in either freezer, so will smoke, cut & package this WE.

Was looking at the local Fry's ad today and they had a killer sale on 20/80 ground beef $5.99 Lb.
Could hardly restrain myself.
They did have chicken drum, thighs and whole birds for $.99 pound picked up 12 pounds of thighs to replenish my KFC stock.
Right after Thanksgiving we went down to Surprise (suburb of Phoenix) to see my daughter's new home, they moved from California. While we were there, we stopped at Walmart and they were closing out their leftover butterball turkeys for $.84 Lb. so I picked up two 12 pounders and have them in the freezer.
We always have a ham for Christmas and it has to be Costco ham per Barb. I got that in the freezer already. So we're good to go through the rest of the year and beyond.
Unless things drastically change, I think by beef eating days are going to be very limited.

Safeway here has 80/20 for $2.50/lb. tomorrow only. Dunno where I'll put it, but will have the wife see if she can male some space in one of the freezers before I go get some.

I'm with you on the beef Rich. Outside of an occasional steak or tri-tip, about the only beef we buy is for grinding. Big pork eaters here.

Jewel ( Albertsons) has chuck roast for $3.99lb. Pork butts $99c lb, but they are Hormel enhanced limit 2.
I have three racks of loin back ribs from Sams in the freezer from when prices were more civilized.
That's what I'm making for xmas.

Yep, we have a lot of pork in the freezers, chops, pork butt, pork loin roasts, pork steaks. I always check the dog food section (mark downs) of the meat dept. While I was at Fry's getting the chicken they had a bunch of round steaks for 50% off so I picked up a few of those.
We are going to get hit with a nasty storm tonight so one of the round steaks is going to become chili tonight.

Albertson’s here has Double R Ranch NY roasts, bone in, for $5.99/lb (limit 2) this week. Picked them up for Christmas today.

I was hoping that Winco or Food Max might have a better price, but so far they don't even have rib roasts, not even Select :(

Check next weeks Aldi ad; 12/15 to 12/21:

Specially Selected Fresh USDA Choice Bone-In Ribeye Roast

$6.99 Per Lb.
