Start of Labor Day weekend!!

Howdy folks...well we had big plans on camping this weekend..ducked out of work early to pack up the rig but ended up callin it since it was pretty much torrential downpour weather..oh well off work early..make some snacks for dinner!

Then the mail man came by with a surprise! My wife is so sweet!

Peppers on low and slow with hickory for 2 hours!

While that was goin on the dogs and I sat by a fire...listened to some tunes, drank beer...watched the rain!
Wet dog!

Ok tossed some roadside on...been soaking since last nite as this was to be our first camping meal!

Little smoke later!

Chicken on for some color!

And plated with a seasonal Alaskan pumpkin porter!!(good stuff).sorry this was my second plate...completely forgot about it the first go round!

Then I did the dishes!

Kiddos doing up some marshmellows!!

All in all great Friday evening...even though we are not camping!

Ok Jim what does "even know your in Alaska" suppose to mean? Weather? Access to fresh veggies and grub? Yes that is a strongbow glass my oldest kid left behind when he moved last time!! I love the weight to it!
