Pepin's Potato Leek Soup, one of our favorites got the nod tonight as I had to use two leeks in the fridge pretty soon. Trimmed, cleaned, a la Jaq"s instruction, sweated in a little EVOO, then shrooms added. After softened add a container of chicken broth and simmer for a little while. Then a cup of Instant Potato flakes, simmer some more, half a cup of milk, simmer some and then S&P to taste.

Love those burgers and that soup Bill. You're son will miss you when he get's back to school and dorm food!

PS... Don't see the mayo on that burger. Must be under the meat! (joke)

When #3 goes back to school, that means you'll have an empty room, right, Bill? Hint, hint..... (by the way, I clicked on this one just to see what the "sandwich" was, knowing that you would elevate it somehow!)

Clint, Bill is right, you did well. The techniques book is one I refer back to often!

OT: the kindle edition I linked above is only $2.00 - I checked it out last night on 2 PCs & also a motorola xoom tablet. The pictures are pretty much unusable on the PC (they stay small, I'm sure there's some way to make them expand...some ebooks have terrific graphics on the amazon kindle e-book PC software) but they're pretty darn nice on the android tablet! I've picked up a bunch of ideas & techniques already, and have read about a couple techniques I see here fairly regularly but don't understand YET :). For $2.00, I think it's a bargain.

Bill, love the soup and burger great simple meal. #3 son sure will miss that, nothing like home cook meals by dad.

Cooking for the kids takes on a whole new meaning when it's only for when they visit. I know he's gonna miss you, Bill.
