So Bad Weather In my Region

IDK some of you may know Rockford IL. There is a creek that runs through the city near downtown called Keith Creek. It's particularly troublesome to folks in Churchill's Grove section and the area of Charles St and 20th. Being now that we've had 3 torrential severe storms in a row (7" Saturday night, 5-6" Sunday and IIRC another 3"-4" last night) That intersection was under water at times up to 5' deep! So one of the latest photos last night of the area

Is that a Loch Ness Monster ?

Yeah not me. I'm sick of cold and winter and darkness. But sadly can't go anywhere else. I keep reading about villages in Italy that will actually pay expats to move there, buy a decent house for just a few Euro, I can understand most of the language, but I'd miss my baby girls and my grandson. But oh boy I would love to be there

I've read the same thing regarding Italy! We didn't get much excitement here in barrington last night other than more rain. Grateful we were missed by the nasty stuff...

My late friend used to live in Barrington. we used to tease him and call it Borrington

We came through OK. Daughter is still without power (told until Friday). They have my generator. Thank heavens I have it. This is the first time since I bought it 4 years ago it being used
There was a confirmed derecho as well.

My power flickered off and and on several times during last night's storm but stayed on. A tornado set down a few miles east of me near the airport. There were a few downed trees in my neighborhood as well.

My friends who work at ORD, were communicating with me. Multiple tornado touchdowns, evacuation, of the concourses, they were saying it was a disaster

I heard about the flooding in the upper Midwest. It was hard to fathom what happened in Minnesota with the river cutting such a large path around that dam. Hopefully, the weather patterns will change for the better soon. We have been under high heat indexes with little rain. Houston is still reeling from power outages after Beryl came through.

I 55 was shut down yesterday from downed power lines near Channahon, took down big tower.
Drone footage was pretty crazy.
Edit: It's still closed supposed to open tomaorrow am. Traffic is rerouted to side roads. That same tornado just missed the big refinery across the highway. That would of been a real disaster.
