I have a vortex for searingI am trying to justify buying this. I don't see myself using it for low and slow, I have WSM's for that. I do see myself using it for searing.
Where do I apply for a research grant?Different materials for all sorts of research are necessary for a fuller understanding of the science.
Perfectly rational.
I have a Vortex too. It just seems that there is a much larger searing area on the SNS.I have a vortex for searing
All‘s well that ends well with a new toy.So my wife comes in to my office when I am about to buy this kind of explain what a great deal it is and what I will do with it. She says great and said she bought a few outfits today for my 3 week old grandaughter I will assure everyone that the SNS was far cheaper than those outfits.
FOR SCIENCE!......because it's all research, right?
Exactly!!!FOR SCIENCE!
Actually you will use less charcoal using a SnS.I am trying to justify buying this. I don't see myself using it for low and slow, I have WSM's for that. I do see myself using it for searing.
No you didn't?!?!Picked up a spare at that price!
Lol, I did. I think it’s gonna be a Christmas gift for my buddy who taught me about kettles and always tried to get me to buy a performer. Clearly 10 years later that had an impact. No you didn't?!?!
I had one (SNS) in the cart, but after thinking about it I passed. Dont really have a use for one. Use the vortex in the performer for searing and grilling steaks. Bought a SNS deluxe with griddle pan for my WSC back when I bought it. Dont use it, as the WSC has become a dedicated smoker. The vortex sits right over the propane starter flame of the performer making firing it up simpleI have a vortex for searing
True, but not that much less. The 18WSM is really efficient and I really need to start going through the 400#'s of charcoal I have in the garage.Actually you will use less charcoal using a SnS.
We need a pic of that 400#, LOL:True, but not that much less. The 18WSM is really efficient and I really need to start going through the 400#'s of charcoal I have in the garage.
