Smokne Okies Turkey Brine and Smoke

Fired up the WSM with a 17# turkey using smokin okies brine recipe. Turkey turned out great. Very moist and will definitely be doing again. much more enjoyable than using an oven.

Yes it was very red. The smokin okies page called for canola oil on the skin. I didn't have any canola so I just used some veggie oil. Not sure if that caused it or not.

Turned out amazing. Even our 80 some year-old grandmother was raving about it, and had seconds.
