Smoked Turkey Drumsticks help needed.

Hello everyone, when I smoke Turkey breast in my WSM, the meat taste like smoked Turkey. When I smoke Turkey Drumsticks, the meat taste like Ham more than Turkey. I don't brine or cure the drumsticks, just speinke with black pepper. What could I be doing wrong to get the ham taste? Or is that just the way Turkey Drumsticks taste when smoked? Thanks a lot for,any advice.

Dark meat poultry will take smoke a lot differently than the breast, and turkey thighs or drumsticks will be much more like ham. Do a whole turkey and see how differently the dark meat tastes, you will be surprised at the difference!
It's a real surprise!

I've done these a cpl times and they turned out great.

If they be enhanced, than yea they could taste hammy. Fresh shouldn't ime.
