Smoked chicken Saturday nite!

Howdy folks...had to do a fall type of cook...been craving some turkey day type vittles...weather was cool and wet so today was the day!!
Looked high and low for some thawed turkeys..nope notta so we went with a couple 6 lb hens...brined for 3 hours in a simple brine..little poultry rub, oil and tyme and rosemary!..bit of hickory for smoke!

Bottom level of the WSM at about 280...comp kingsford and no water in the pan!
Got a few other things together and sat my butt in front of the smoker with a nice fall beer!

After about an hour and half chicken was looking good!

Butternut squash on the top rack with brown sugar and butter!

After about 2 or so hours this chicken was done!

All plated with a fresh beer,..my wife's taters stuffing, squash and gravy!! It's a party!

Wow what a meal!! Amazing..
Finished up the nite watching the preseason Seahawks game and a bit of scotch and a cigar!

Nite folks...hope Saturday was awesome for ya!!

That is all good stuff! Love the whole meal. Hangin with the dawgs , cookin out , the squash is a standout for me , but I also love me some smoked chicken. Nice post , brother.

Sorry Jim...it's close for me dude...we lost all sorts of temp and been pretty wet!! Well good excuse for some fall grub I suppose...heck I still do summertime cooks in the winter so it's all good here!
