Bob,Blues Hog briqs look pretty ordinary in person.
Haven't burned any yet, but they're standard size, with grooves, and made in Mexico.
No outdoor cooking tonight, but I will be trying it out tomorrow. I will come back here after that.Feel a bit lightweight too.
No cooks tonight, or tomorrow, maybe Michael Richards will and give a review.

Yes, mine have grooves. I'll try to get a shot of them tomorrow along side ROCS, and maybe some KBB.Bob,
Do the briquettes in your bag have grooves. Just opened mine and took a picture in bad lighting, but these don't have any grooves.
Yeah especially because all three imagine I was able to find before purchasing was groove-less.PS, I've contacted Blues Hog asking why the difference, grooves and no grooves. No reply yet.
Jim,tried the 1st of 5 bags i bought.
will not be adding to the 4 remaining bags.
yesJim,
Does the bag you used have grooves/ridges?
not sure what "jonzing" is but if it's what i think it is, Weber in my opinion makes the best briquettes or did, why not try to find something as good if not better...?Look’s like everyone is “jonzing” to find a comparable charcoal to Weber Briquettes!
I agree with your comment, I was merely making an observation. I have heard good things about B & B All-Natural Oak Hardwood Charcoal Briquettes, but I have yet to try them.not sure what "jonzing" is but if it's what i think it is, Weber in my opinion makes the best briquettes or did, why not try to find something as good if not better...?
don't mean at all to sound condescending...I agree with your comment, I was merely making an observation. I have heard good things about B & B All-Natural Oak Hardwood Charcoal Briquettes, but I have yet to try them.
I guess I would consider myself lucky, as I am still sitting on at least a dozen bags of Weber & probably 2-3 dozen bags of Stubbs that I scored a couple of years ago.
