Servo / Damper pictures


 
I used a rotodamper on a Large BGE up to 700F to test the v4.2 thermocouple support and it held up just fine with no visible signs of distress over an hour period. I should have measured the exact temperature though. I will definitely do that next time with a couple thermocouples and some kapton tape.
 
I forgot to mention that if you plan on going for more than low and slow, the type of plastic you make it out of will become more of an issue. PLA will start warping before ABS as the temp gets higher. Steve, that is likely the problem you had at 400F. Nylon or some of the other higher temp materials may ultimately show some benefit here if high temp cooks in hot weather become routine.
 
I do high temp cooks with my roto damper on my Fauxmado regularly and have never had a problem, I print them with ABS plastic.
 
Our take on Servo Dampers...

While we were looking for something around the house to use with the Servos we thought "Hey. Carbs from my restored 73 Honda CB500 have butterfly valves"

and there goes another few Saturdays :)
