First, sorry if the pics are slow to load. Shot them with my 'new to me' dslr, and need to learn how to reduce the size. It came with a 200+ page manual
Still in my quest for decent beef ribs, I found these at Walmart. Vac packed and $1.98 lb. Not real meaty, like Mr Lampe gets, but not too bad.
Rubbed and ready for the 3 hr cook @ mid 200's temp on the kettle, with pecan wood:
Also made salt spuds, just new potatoes cooked in water totally saturated with as much salt as the water will hold, cooked until tender and drained, a salt crust forms when dry:
Before serving I smashed 'em a bit with a fork then drizzled butter w/green onions over them:
Also did a half chicken. I cut a few slits 1/2" deep into the breast, and legs. Marinated in 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 1 TBS minced garlic, and 3 TBS bbq sauce for 1 hr.
About ready to pull:
My wife's plate below, mine was more loaded
I was much more happy with the cook than with my pics. May go back to the old Kodak for food shots till I get all them buttons etc figured out.
The salt spuds were great, not too salty.
Hit the ribs lightly with bbq sauce, and they were pretty tender, and very tasty. Chicken was very good also.
Local corn now too!!
Thanks for puttin' up with my ramblin's!
