Is willing to print out a rotodamper for me? I emailed Ralph but got no reply. I would be more than happy to pay someone a fair price for one.

90 views and no replies.. I assume the Heatermeter/rotodampers fell out of favor with the rise of pellet smokers?
 
The Roto Damper was never uploaded to git hub so you could download the print files and have someone print you one. You can get the Adapt-A-Damper print files off the web and then find a printer to print device. I would go that route. Heatermeter is still the best solution for ceramic cookers imo. Still use mine for long cooks and have been very happy. Only time I don`t use mine is when I cook burgers. Be careful when purchasing the servo required for any of the dampers. There are lots of crapping clones out there.
 
I am looking for the files for the rotodamper as well. Ralph made one for me years ago but the collar on my cracked and I would like to print it if possible.
 
I am looking for 2 Rotodampers as well. The files or someone to print them would be great as well. But I can print if I need to. Ralph printed my original years ago. Any help would be appreciated.

Thread '.stl files for roto damper and older HeaterMeter case'

Hello, long shot but I was wondering if anyone had stl files for the case I'm using for my heatermeater and the robo damper.

I attached pictures of the ones I have, both have multiple cracks at this point so I don't expect them to survive long term.

I tried contacting the Ralph the designer or the RD3 a while back however it appears he's no longer active on the forums.

I see that the roto damper was not ever uploaded by the creator so I guess I'll have to try one of the other dampers. I'm still looking for the case if anyone has it. I'm not even sure what version it is...
 
Maybe this is what you want. There is also a file for Tom Kole`s damper too. I currently use the Tom Kole damper. It works great for my small Prinojr ceramic grill. The RD3 looks like it`s based off the last Tom Kole design. Cooked 20lb bird Monday and the heatermeter performed perfectly as usual. I am in the process of printing out parts for the RD3 damper through library system, where i live. There is one file for the disk that looks like it might be too large and it's looking like I might need to print somewhere else or edit the .stl to remove writing on disk which makes file large. I have also used to Adapt- a damper and it work good to. I have a friend who built a large smoker and that damper works best on his big smoker. I used it on my grill, and it work well after Wil printed me a disk with only half the opening as his original. That made that damper sing as well.

Want to add one more thing about these files. I have personally printed the Tom Kole damper from these files. I have not printed any of the RD3 files. No time right now and printers at library are down for a few weeks. Prior to printing anything that has not been downloaded from thing universe or from the creator, open files in your favorite cad creator and review. When holidays are over, I will review RD3 files and then decide what I will do after that. Too much going on right now to start printing.
 
The Rd3, the Rotordamper, I believe was the first damper made for the Heatermeter. Then others started to make their own damper variations

You will want the hm-case-43.scad.

OpenSCAD can export to .stl
To do this, once the file is open in OpenSCAD, you will need to render it. (Design->Render) on Mac. I'm on a Mac Studio and it took a good minute to finish. Then File->Export->Export as .stl
