Couple of days ago I seasoned deer burgers and ribeyes with Oakridge Santa Maria rub.
Did a rare, for me, front sear on the steaks.
Son wanted deer meat, told him these will be dry due to no fat added.
No problem he said.
The steaks were fork tender, and just what I was craving.
Didn't get a pic of the burgers, but Tyler said they were "Awesome!"
Last night was deerloaf.
Didn't use a recipe, but it contained 1.5 lbs. deer, .5 lbs. hot pork sausage, 2 eggs, onions, hot salsa, Panko crumbs, and season salt.
Topped with Secret Stadium Sauce (Thanks Mr Lampe, this is perfect with meatloaf!)
Only took a little over an hour at 325.
On white, gummy bread, just like when I was a kid.
Got another "Awesome" from the big kid, and a fist bump.
Non meatloaf eater Jo Anne does not know what she is missing!
Thanks for the visit!
Note to Morgan,
I'll see your pair of lazy labs, and raise you one.
