RARE Weber Grill Restaurant Video (1997?)

Found this old video today of the Weber Grill Restaurant from likely 1997ish. The weird thing is though that the grill used is NOT the Stainless Ranch Kettle that we know, rather, it almost looks like a Stainless 26 inch kettle, maybe even 30 inch? Hard to tell. Anyway, pretty cool little piece of Weber history here that I thought should be shared but wasn't sure where to put it. Enjoy!

Wife and I ate at that place. I remember noticing the kitchen was all enormous Ranch Kettles equipped with VERY thick (I think) stainless steel bar grates, that were hinged to add charcoal. And the kettles weren't stainless, they were plain black just with what appeared to be non stock grates

We ate at the Weber Grill in Wheeling a few times when we lived in the Chicago area, took my parents there once. Never, ever, disappointed with the food or the service. The Irish Coffee's floor show was well worth it. Unfortunately, that location has long closed, but it looks like there are still a few Weber Restaurants running around Chicago.

I visited the Downtown Chicago location in 2017. The food and atmosphere was excellent! Plus it was fun being surrounded by a lot of Weber history. Definitely wanna go back one day!

my sister in law tends bar at the one in Schaumburg - we like to make a stop when were back that way - lots of history for sure...

This one is just up the street from me and I'm kind of embarrassed to say I've never been there. When we go out to eat I usually just go along with whatever my wife wants.

I'm local and ashamed to say we have never eaten at the Schaumburg location. Drivin by it hundreds of times too. I need to get there.

I worked in Schiller Park for a few months in the mid 80’s.
My per diem would only afford me a room really close to where the planes landed at O’Hare.
They may have even flown right over my room.

I remember the people and the good food more than about anything.
The museum was first rate as well.
I’d love to visit that place again.

I was out in Bloomingdale for 12 years from the mid 90's. I do recall a flight from Houston Intercontinental into O'Hare right over my apartment, low enough that I could not only spot my car, but verify that there wasn't any broken glass next to it.

Found some more footage from the old Wheeling location, pretty cool time capsule! It appears the restaurant used to use both stainless 26' inch flattop Kettles and stainless Ranch Kettles before going with all Ranch Kettles years later.

Takes me back a bit. I do remember the entrance and the dining room.

I grew up in Elk Grove Village and the planes would fly directly over our house to land at O'Hare .The noise was actually enough to rattle the windows and you couldn't hear the TV it was so loud. That was in the early 70's. I live in the same town now but the planes are so much quieter now that you barely notice it unless you're outside when they go over.

Yep, we're in the "glide path" to KRFD and when UPS, Fed Ex and Amazon Prime are running their "blocks" it's almost like O'Hare. But, yeah you barely notice them.
