Hello All,
This is just a quick post to prove I am still alive and grilling. This weekend was very rainy here in Southeast Louisiana so I used my serendipitous indoor time to whip up some Teriyaki Marinade on Saturday (instead of raking leaves - hate it whan that happens). I marinated some pork loin chops I got on sale at WM during the Saints game and had the boys bring my grill around to the front porch so I could stay out of the rain (that is how we roll here in the deep south). I added some Vidalia onion and pineapple to the party and here is how it went down:

Double Batch of Teriyaki Marinade on Pork Loin Chops for About Five Hours

Prepped Some Sweet Onions (EVOO, KS, and Lemon Pepper)

Pork On Direct to Pick Up Color and then Moved Indirect

Chops Stacked and Grilled Indirect while Onions Cook Direct then Everyone Sauced (Thickened Reserved Marinade) Indirect

Prepped the Pinapple (Peeled, Sliced, Slatered with EVOO, and Sprinkled with KS) then Grilled Direct (Low Fire by Now) and Moved Indirect for About 15 Minutes then Sauced

Plated with Steamed Broccoli

Well this turned out great. I altrered my Teriyaki recipe slightly and added mango to the mix. I used one small can of crushed pineapple and added a similar amount of Mango chunks (which I ran through the food processor with the garlic and ginger). I did not notice a significant difference in the taste or texture of the food so I probably won't do this again. Making the marinade a day ahead really imnproves the flavor though and I recommend it highly. This is a family favorite so it was pretty well received. The Teriyaki sweet onion was the star of this show though. I will definitely do that again.
