Question About Thermoworks Smoke

i respectfully submit that you good people are overthinking this. I have used the "slot" just as presented in the "how to " in my 18.5, my newer 14.5, and the mini absolutely without issue. It is much easier to use than the grommet and has had no issues of any kind.

Just a thought or two...

Yah, at least your wife cooks. hahaha. I learned to cook out of necessity. Not that she isn't a good cook, she just has chosen not to.

Anyway, I would love a thermapen as well, but again, I think I am stretching my luck and wallet with the smoke. Maybe down the road a little, I can sneak one of those in under the radar.

I just stuff it through the slit in the grommet. No issues. The Smoke is the best monitor on the market in my opinion. Excellent build quality for a consumer product.

Does anyone else feel the receiver is unnecessarily heavy? I know it's not beyond some manufacturers to put weights in a product to make it feel more substantial.
