Does anyone have any experience using these to pull pork, or handle food in general?

I bought them today for pulling pork tonight. Having over a bunch of people and I have a cut on my hand. Don't normally use gloves but didn't want to risk it.

They say they are designed for handling food. Just making sure they really are safe and don't leave a taste of some kind on the food.

If I were ruin my bbq pork b/c of gloves, I would be highly upset.

Bryan - I've used them - no worries. Not much protection from heat, but they are food safe and leave no "taste" that I have ever picked up. I'll frequently put them on, run under water and then have at it, whether is is pulling, seasoning, cutting, etc. If you hv a restaurant supply near, you can usually get food grade latex gloves for significantly less $.

I only use a couple of stiff (ie old) forks for pulling ("bear claws" too pricey up here).

Don't need no stinkin' gloves

as in my experience, I've never needed to touch the meat with my hands. Too hot in any case.

I use Nitrile gloves. No matter what you buy, I like this type of glove. For pulling, I use the large gloves and put them over some cotton jersey gloves. Works good.

Len - I touch the meat because I need to pick out the nasties that are still left after cooking. It's not much, but there's some fat and silver skin type of tissue that I want to get out. To each his/her own - I clean my butt when I pull.

Hey thanks all,

I used the clean cuisine gloves yesterday, and it did not leave any sort of taste on the pork at all.

Jim McK, thanks for responding so quickly. It was reassuring to know I could use these gloves safely.
