Pammi Claus Arrived Early And A Partial Cook

Yesterday,I made my final trip to the mall before the big day next week. Hopefully,I won't have to deliver anything near any this short work week! We didn't have much to get,mostly just a few things for the grand kids. I'd forgotten that Pammi wanted to get me a new paella pan! Okay,technically a Lodge 15"carbon steel skillet,but it durn sure looks like a paella pan!

Sorry about the blurry pic,but this beauty is pretty AND stout! I think I'm making paella NEXT weekend,before our best friends youngest daughter goes home to the KC area! Yum! While we were at the cash register,Pammi asked if I had a probe thermometer. I told her that the one I had got drowned and had to be disposed of. She grabbed this off the shelf by the register and said that she had a stocking stuffer!

I'm sure I'll have a use for it in the near future!

Last weekend,I was digging in the freezer and found a filet and some crab cakes. Guess what? Surf and turf time!

A couple small yukon golds,indirect in some oil.

I added the filet after about 20 minutes.

And removed the taters while the steak finished.
The steak and taters were good. Better than the crab cakes,which I totally forgot to get a pic of! But,a very nice meal! Thanks for looking!
