Thawed out a turkey we had in the freezer, spatchcocked it and seasoned it with Lawry's, black pepper, onion powder and granulated garlic under the skin and grilled in on the 26" Weber.

Made a open faced sandwich with bread, garlic mashed potatoes, dressing and some of the turkey

and ladled a good helping of giblet gravy and served with mixed veggies

There is something so down home about that John. Looks fabulous and certainly made me hungry!

No doubt... fantastic. My dad is making a long journey to come see me this weekend & I was scratching my head, considered a turkey/stuffing......... going with pizzas & burgers :) making me second guess my choices :)

That is outstanding John looks super good. I am so glad I have a bone in turkey breast defrosting in the fridge as I read this. Wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with it. I know now.

John you nailed that one for sure. Like Rich said I'm glad we have one defrosting in the fridge so we can do this to. Thanks for sharing a great cook.

That looks fantastic John. did you harvest the gravy from the cook, or was it some you had on hand?

I took off as much fat as I could from the turkey before I cooked it and added it and a little cooking oil to a CI skillet and rendered thew fat down. Used the neck, tail, and giblets, celery, and onion to make a stock. Used the fat a little flour and the stock to make my gravy.
