Back in 2017 I picked up a nice Wilton for my workbench from FBM. I think I paid ~$80 for it. It’s much more vise than I need but I like it. These are the pictures from the ad, all I did to it was wipe the dust off after I mounted it.

Been researching vices and there are a few I'm interested in. Today I was reading about Morgan Chicago and it's company history. Interesting history. This one just came up for sale and I'm considering picking it up also.

Same one I had on my basement workbench in our old house. It was great. I did break a shear pin in it once...but was easily replaced. I through bolted it through 3/4" plywood with lock and fender washers.

I'm thinking about offering on these American made vices in my neighborhood. Athol and Colombian both 4".
Any thoughts on them?
Or should I hold out for a nice Reed?

Josh, I am partial to the Starrett's and Athol's as the Factory was 25 miles from me and they always made quality products.

Finished cleaning and lubricating my old Craftsman vise.

Sanded it starting with 60 grit on up to 3000 grit. Then buffed, polished waxed it.
