What a season. Both football and weather.Tri tip for a victory dinner.
I think all of us Californians thought this might happen, or at least i can say that I did...that after all these years of drought, it's bound to catch up with us someday. We need the rain, so whatever pain we have to go through, it's worth it. 2/3 of the California population lives in the south, and SoCal gets its water from the north...so thanks, guys, for hanging in there!5’ of snow possible by Tuesday from this next storm. Insane.
CA’s always been a boom or bust economy, just like the weather. I don’t really mind all this weather. After all, I don’t have to shovel snow and it’s like 2-3 mos of below 50° which is my freeze point.I think all of us Californians thought this might happen, or at least i can say that I did...that after all these years of drought, it's bound to catch up with us someday. The other thing is, 2022 was a terrible year for the CA tomato crop, with the heat and drought, so expect increases in prices for tomato products from CA. And now, with much of the grape-growing that takes place in NorCal, I expect that will have an impact on CA grape products like wines from CA. Might not be a bad idea to stock up is all I'm sayin'.
Lived here almost 74 years, it wasn't always like that. During WWII, people did not want to live here for fear of enemy attack with aircraft production along the coast. I blame it on the Beach Boys, who popularized the California lifestyle.CA’s always been a boom or bust economy, just like the weather. I don’t really mind all this weather. We buy 4-5 cases of wine a year to keep the collection going so hopefully we’ll make it through this bump with most of our money![]()

Try the boxOnly 4-5?
That’s the minimum so the wine fridge stays full. I think I stock 270-330 bottles at any time. I have 4 cases that need to go into the wine fridge right now but it’s full. Need to work on the built in bar cabinets this year.Only 4-5?
Yeah, The Beach Boys did it for me. It was easy to go west.Lived here almost 74 years, it wasn't always like that. During WWII, people did not want to live here for fear of enemy attack with aircraft production along the coast. I blame it on the Beach Boys, who popularized the California lifestyle.
Never found a reason to leave, fat dumb and happy.
Some people like the four seasons and I totally get that. CA is not as idyllic as it once was...it is getting blazingly hot in the summer and we can see what is happening in the winter (when we have one)..., but I've always felt that if your heart isn't here, then maybe you should get your a$$ out. I think that goes for anywhere you live, love it or find your happiness elsewhere.Yeah, The Beach Boys did it for me. It was easy to go west.
I think that would equate to about 2 boxes stored under the pool table for those of us in the cheap seats. That’s the minimum so the wine fridge stays full. Hahaha. I’m substantially less sophisticated than I appear. I’m pretty basic and can go either way. My friends are in all walks of life. Income doesn’t impress me. It’s who one is that I care for or about.I think that would equate to about 2 boxes stored under the pool table for those of us in the cheap seats.
I hope you find this as funny as I do, Brett! Really, I admire your sophistication and worldliness, but that ain't me.
Might be a good time to give a shout out to those utility company people that have to go out in the worst kinds of weather to fix our problems. It is hazardous, dangerous work, under the worst possible conditions, and sometimes we may seem to take it for granted. It's not a job I could ever do, and to those that do, I salute you. Props to all y'all.
Power out to 300,000 people? Who are the guys, the team that brought the power back? Thanks, guys, and a job well done!
Meh. It was nothin'!
