Put a little twist on the Santa Maria tri tip using this recipe:

I threw a couple sweet potatoes on with the tri. They had a little butter, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Being a winemaker, I have a decent supply of wine soaked oak, so I used that for smoke. The mop sauce worked nicely with this. Along with the rub, there was a nice contrast with the richness from the beef and smoke.
