New Year's Tri-tip!

I love cooking up Tri-tips. It is my favorite cut of beef. Of course a good rib-eye or porterhouse is great but for giving the family a steak dinner the Tri-tip is hard to beat if you're on a budget and want steak on the menu.

I left it on the grill a little long but it still tasted great! I love getting all the Tri-tip drippings all over the potatoes as well! My last 2 Tri-tips have ended up turning into 'logs' instead of keeping their normal shape.

Happy New Year!

Douglas-

Nice tri. I think they came out excellent if you prefer them medium with some pick in the middle. Nothing better to impress the neighbors in using your weber in the winter. Plus a good way to knock off all that snow.

Very nice looking dinner. I never seem to see Tri tip at my local supermarket, does it go by another name? I would love to try and cook one.

Do you have a Costco? We don't have Tri Tip in the grocery stores around here either but the local Costco has them. They might in your neck of the woods as well.

Sam's Club also has them from time to time. They sell sliced up tri-tip in the meat case. If you see that just ask the butcher and they probably have whole Tri-tips in the back.
