New Weber spirit

That chart only shows the total cooking area but it is the same as the previous 3-burner Spirits (and the classic Genesis x000/Silver/Gold/Platinum). That only makes sense and allows for lots of interchangeability. Put a set of 9mm stainless rod grates on there, and you look to have a great cooker.

Yep, it would be interesting to know the exact size of the main cooking grates without the warmers and other shelves. I think Weber is doing a good thing by putting 7mm SS rod grates in them.

Wait... Spirit with a sear zone AND another burner? Four burners? Can you show the internal setup?

That's interesting. My main issue with the three burner spirit is that I would like more heat in certain situations. Four burners...

So based on that 360 video it looks like they on purpose left the whole back of the cabinet exposed for, I’m assuming, cost savings + less bottom panel rust. I wonder if that will invite critters inside though.

I also notice the insert lining around the propane tank hole which I assume is to protect that from rust somehow.

Hi John,

We are a retailer in the UK, WoWbbq. What we have been told is that the Spirit will be split into 3 sub divisions. Good, Better and Best.

The Good and Better have an open back whereas the Best is fully enclosed. The best also has tech and the side tables and control panel on the best version are stainless steel instead of painted.

Here is a photo of the inside of the best version showing the back and the gas tank sump...

I like the fact a large gas tank can be housed in the cabinet...

Good info Patrick. I wonder how the "Best" Spirits will compare to the lower level Genesis grills.

The open back is similar to other grills in that price range on the market. The cheaper ones have a fixed front panel and no back.

Small critters like mice can get anywhere.

Motivated dogs can get the door open to get at the grease tray. Big ones could knock the grill over if they want.

I think so. It might help top scratching of the paint from getting the tank in and out and maybe hold back some of the moisture. I noticed in the picture that @Patrick Loughrey posted it also looks like maybe the bottom cabinet piece - which is always the first to rust out - has some kind of textured treatment. Hopefully, another rust preventative and evidence that Weber is at last trying to do at least something to reduce cabinet rust.
