Decided I'll stay another year or two, so they got me new wheels. Can't wait for ID Elk season

Yeah, the stacks are low. Several low bridges I squeak under

Chuck, I forget what you haul, refresh my memory?
I was hauling the 300' girders for the high speed rail project. I was styling too, I had a monster Peterbilt 389 and was towing the Goldhofer THP 96 line trailer. My single heaviest haul was a 750K LBS girder, and I pulled 1M LBS, but had a pusher behind it. I quit that project because as sexy as it sounds, going 10 maybe 15 MPH isn't all that. This truck is our new Calif/Idaho truck, it's a 80K LBS. I'll be hauling steel from CA to ID and back, as most of the steel companies have left CA (don't ask me why, Chris will kick my butt) I really like the CA/ID runs, it's a beautiful drive, and just me, my cat and a 53' tri-axel trailer in tow.

Very nice Chuck! You'll be stylin' in that.👍
My Dad always had Peterbilts.

As the Controller, I'm sure you had some say in that deal. Congrats - You did yourself well! 😊
They don't let the beancounter spec the trucks, or it would have been a 389. I did the financing on it (as with all our equipment) I got 100% financed at 5.85% fully amortizing over 60 months. Being their Controller has it's rewards, but the joy is in driving pristine equipment. And the extra $'s don't hurt :)

It's the 80K. In my younger days, I kept an extra drive shaft handy, I twisted up a few with these gears
Lots of respect for the heavy haulers. That’s not an easy job. I wouldn’t have the patience to do it, especially with all the poor drivers on the roads today.

Nice big rig ChuckO. The color is perfect for the body style. Me & my dad owned a dirt moving construction business for 25 years. I made my living running D8 sized caterpillar dozers. We also had 627 Cat scrapers, blade, dump truck & water truck. But when it came to heavy haul over HWY's we had a friend that hauled our equipment from job to job. So, I understand the game of what it takes to haul heavy loads down the HWY's. Especially over the passes of the state that I live in. Wolf Creek, Lizard head & such. Safe truckin'!
