New Cookbox was "Repairing holes in Summit Cook Box"

This thread is two years old. I have the same problem on an even older Summit S650, Does anyone know if an aftermarket fix was developed or of a special dealer part number for the front panel? Seems silly that something so damage-prone and attached with just two bolts can only be repaired with a whole cookbox.

Nope, no new factory parts or aftermarket replacement parts are available. One member, @Jon Tofte had some custom panels made out of SS that look to be working out quite well so far. Message him and he will give you the info.

@StevenG,

If you can, post a picture of your Summit, so we can see what you have. It is very confusing regarding model numbers. My stainless reinforcements are for the 1st generation (~1997-2003) Summits. The parts are made to cover two burner openings, so on a 6-burner that will take three pieces for the entire front. I also make plain pieces for the back which can also fail.
