Oh gosh, I want a piece of that cake so badly.
Funny thing about it was it was unplanned until I saw your post. DW made biscuits for yesterday‘s dinner of rotisserie chicken, drip pan potatoes, and grilled asparagus. We had 2 leftover biscuits. So when I told her this morning it was NSSC Day, we knew what was for dessert tonight.Oh gosh, I want a piece of that cake so badly.
All but one bottle of Yellow Spot Irish whiskey. Is that all bourbon?
Brad, your wife knew what she was doing. She was getting ready for tomorrow. lol While searching my fudge recipes, I came across a recipe for "Brandy Fudge". If interested, let me know and I will be happy to post the recipe. When I read the post about National Bourbon Day my wife was at the grocery store, so I gave her a call and asked her to pick me up a small bottle.
She brought home brandy...to be fair, "bourbon" and "brandy" both contain the letters "b", "r" and "n" and Wisconsin generally leads the nation in brandy consumption, so it was forgivable. And to be honest, bourbon treats me rougher than it used to so maybe it was for the better.![]()
Do you ever make bourbon pecan pie?Brad, your wife knew what she was doing. She was getting ready for tomorrow. lol While searching my fudge recipes, I came across a recipe for "Brandy Fudge". If interested, let me know and I will be happy to post the recipe.
Jeff, I have made quite a few pecan pies in my active days, (my very, very favorite pie) but I cannot remember if I have ever put bourbon in any of them.Do you ever make bourbon pecan pie?
I’ve used The NY Times , The Spruce Eats, and a couple others. I use extra bourbon and pecan halves. Do you have one that sounds good to you?Jeff, I just checked my recipes and I have around 4 or 5 recipes for pies with bourbon and pecans. And a couple that will come in handy this fall that call for pumpkin. lol Now if I can just get DH to find the time to make a pie. lol
Why did you ask? Have a good recipe or want one?
