My area is NOT a hotbed for Weber CO bargains

I'm amazed at the bargains some of you find in CL in other parts of the country. It just doesn't happen much here in SW Missouri. I'm not in the market for anything right now but I still like to look. For a while I was looking for my brother because his members mark went to the landfill after 3 short years. But I didn't ever find anything.

This is the kind of thing I usually see. Not sure how they think a grill with those kind of rust issues is worth $150??

Here people are just throwing them out. I don't know why. I got 2 Weber Gold, one older Silver B and a Premium 22" kettle for $50 total last week. Then over the weekend there was a later model Silver B with two folding tables, black knobs and NG for $25.
Here is a Spirit for $25:

Genesis 300 for $50. Looks like it has some fire damage in the cabinet. Not if it would be worth saving it:

Now there is this one right now very close to my office but the seller forgot to post his contact information:

And older gas grill for $1:

Two mountain smokers for $150 each. Not cheap but they look almost new:

One thing I have noticed is that in our area at least Craigslist is declining while OfferUp has more and more grills. I don’t do Facebook, but their marketplace also seems to have an increasing number of grillsas Stefan’s post shows. There is also LetGo which is not as active here but maybe is up and coming. I guess it takes more venues now to find the right Weber deal! Have you tried all of these? I would be interested in what you are finding.

I have not checked Letgo or Offerup. But I have used 5miles. There are too many apps popping up now and I don't really want to follow all of them. But the less used the better sometime the bargains are.
Plus also search for misspelled items. You won't believe how many people are using the word "Webber" instead of "Weber" in their ads.

I did a quick search on CL and FB Market place and I have to agree that the Springfield, MO area is not a good place to find old weber grills for sale.

That being said, you may have to do some driving to find them. The vast majority of the grills I find are in Madison, WI which is 50 miles from me. I find few closer than that. I am not that familiar with your area, but try some searches in nearby metro areas and see what you find.

If I lived near Milwaukee, WI, I would have all the flip grills I wanted at good prices.

Been pretty steady here in the Seattle area. My buddy just picked up a free 3000 on Offerup and there were 2 freebie Silver B's this past weeked, one with a blue hood and others that were <$50. There was also a Weber Deluxe charcoal grill (in blue) that was listed for free as well.

Yeah, I usually see stuff that's overpriced like that and the person won't budge. I've been seeing most stuff on Facebook marketplace, more so than Craigslist lately.

The problem also is that refurbished ones are harder to sell in an area where there are plenty of cheap or free curb site items. Here in our area people love to have the latest and greatest and are not necessarily will to pay for the old fashioned items.
Maybe I need rent a uhaul and haul my finds up north... lol

It has to do with the population base as well. If you live in an area where the biggest town for 50 miles is 100,000 population or less, then you are not going to see the listing that some one who lives in or near St Louis or Milwaukee or Tampa or Dallas. If I lived near Milwaukee, I could pick up three or four good rehab candidates a week from april through may and then they will probably slow down a little through the end of the summer. As it is, I have to drive a hour or more for most of my finds and that rules out most "FREE CURBSIDE PICKUP" grills. I am almost better off finding a $20 grill because people pick up free stuff even if they don't really want it and if I have to drive an hour, it is usually gone by then and I wasted a trip. Free curb pickup people tend to not want to "hold" a grill for you.

Yeah KC and St Louis are much better options when I've checked. But that's a 6 hour round trip and my old truck is kind of a gas hog. Just not worth it. At least to me. Thankfully I have two nice vintage webers already.
