Mr. Brown goes to town!

Haven't smoked anything lately due to being in hospital for a few days due to a reaction to some new medicine my doctor perscribed. Anyway I'm home and feeling good so I decided to smoke a butt using the renowned Mr. Brown recipe.

Picked up two butts at the store and am making one into buckboard bacon. Sorry the photo quality is not the best I used the cellphone.

Put the butt on at 10:45 last night and went to bed. Woke up in the am to find this.

Butt came off at 1:00pm and went into a cooler till 5:00.

I love the bark on these things. All shredded up.

This was my first overnight cook and it worked out really well. I used water in the pan to help prevent temperature swings. I noticed there is a rust colored film on the inside of my lid due to the water I'm guessing. Do you guys clean that off or just roll with it? Thanks for looking.

Great looking pulled pork Jason! I usually clean my lid out when it gets too nasty but not after every cook. If it starts to flake then I clean it.
I still get it once in awhile and I haven't used water in my pan for the past few years. May have something to do with the high humidity in this
area.

That pulled pork looks really good. I have used that recipe a couple of times and have always been pleaded with the results. I'm sure it tastes great.

Looks awesome! I use water and sometimes get that rust color (especially for the first few months on a new WSM). I don't clean it. It goes away....

don't lift the lid...
