Mr. Baseball.

I used to tune in to Brewer games just to be able to listen to him. Great guy. One of the all time baseball greats

At 90yo, he had a good run. He was a funny guy. He will be missed. RIP, Bob, and thanks for all the laughs.
Just the tip of the iceberg:

Back in the early '90s I was in a bowling league, and one of the guys told a story that he swore was true. He was visiting family and was hanging out in the back yard with his feet in a wading pool, sipping a beer. A voice asks, "Mind if I join you?" so he looks up and lo and behold, it's Bob Uecker. Apparently one of Bob's sisters lived next door and he was visiting. So Phil told him sure, and offered him a beer that wasn't a Miller Lite. And Bob responded that he'd like to but he couldn't, because somebody might see and he'd get in trouble.

Now I have no idea how true the story is and I'm remembering it 30+ years later, but it's something I absolutely could see Bob Uecker doing!

The post-game show is brought to you by...

[searches through his papers]

Christ, I can't find it. To hell with it.
"This guy threw at his own son in a father/son game."
Last year (or maybe it was 2023) the Brewers had a "Major League" theme night and my wife and I just happened to be there. During 1 or 2 of the inning changes, the scoreboard put up a "Who Said It: Bob Uecker or Harry Doyle?" quiz. It was some good stuff.:ROFLMAO:

I watched a clip of him on Johnny Carson last night (Mel Brooks did a spit-take @ 4:50 over something Bob said!). We lost a good one. Almost 5 decades later and we're still laughing, Bob.

Also watched some Lite Beer commercials that he was in, one of them with the great Rodney Dangerfield. How I miss those guys.
