Mother's Day Meal

Hello All,

This year we went simple - BBQ Bird, Onion Bloom, roasted carrots, and Grilled Artichoke. I went out of town this weekend to take number three son to visit LA Tech university. We got back mid afternoon on Sunday so I had to hit the ground running, hence the BBQ Bird. I had seen artichokes on sale at the W/D so I bought a few of them and adapted a Bobby Flay recipe (I made a butter sauce with EVOO, garlic, fresh oregano, and fresh basil instead of the dressing he used). Anyway the 'chokes turned out pretty good. The family really enjoyed the meal and we had it on the table in about 2 hrs 15 min.

Well the meal was enjoyed by all. The artichokes added an element of elegance to a pretty simple meal and it was just the thing to commemorate the day. I will be doing these again soon I think.

Thanks for looking.

Regards,

John
