Haven't cooked on my Santa Maria grill enough to season the grates well, but I worked on that chore yesterday.

Brooke sez: That ain't no doggone Weber!

The Roadside chicken was about to go on, so this was lunch. (RSC baste sauce in the jar)

Chasing flames could not have been easier, just crank her up/down.

I have a Thermapen for the deck Webers, but this is my patio, $2.50, Home Depot, as-is, bargain. (it was missing the battery,

With a couple or three meals grilled up, this was my supper.

Bottom line:
Tasty food, that was really fun to cook.
The SM is perfect for RSC!
Brooke needs not worry, Weber still rules the roost around here.

Thanks so much for viewing!

WOW Bob, beautiful food! And I love that Santa Monica type grill. Glad to see somebody grilling on something besides a Weber. It brings more to the site I think. By the way give Brooke some leftover chicken, she needs it. Beautiful dog you got there.

Beautiful meal, Bob. For a minute there, I thought the beer was goin' in the brown for some new kinda Michelada?

Outstanding looking vittles there Bob! Looks like you are loving that new grill!! Nice work...I think Brooke was more concerned about the Bud you were drinking actually?

Take care buddy!

How is the SM in the high winds? The more I see that thing the more I think it would have looked good somewhere on the property. :)

Excellent looking cook Bob!!! I keep my grill covered with a tarp when not used but my grate still rusts even after heavy use. I'm thinking about getting a grate made out of stainless steel. I did see a pic on Facebook where a guy put grillgrates on his SM grill. I think that would work out excellent but he paid quite a bit for enough grates to cover his grill.

To cook potatoes on the Santa Maria I have been wrapping the potatoes in aluminum foil and putting them next to the coals in the firebox and giving them a turn once in a while.

Thanks everyone!

Morgan, Brooke will smack her lips over the last drops of beer in my bottle or can, no matter the brand. :p
Paul, haven't cooked in high winds yet. It's fairly sheltered on the patio. (I tipped you off about the deal on these my friend):)
John, I cover with a tarp too, was hoping the rust would stop after more use.
I thought about doing the potatoes that way, but the cook was midday for dinner, and beyond.

yeah..., yeah..., YEAH!!!

Excellent, best of both worlds, a grill, I been thinking of RSC too and a campfire in the coals cooker remembering all of those Boy Scout 'in tinfoil' cooks.

Thought about SS grates until I priced the steel here, for now it will be cold rolled, ...soon and very soon.

Fantastic grilling and photos Bob! Just wondering if a Santa Maria is going to join my 2 pellet grills and 3 Webers
under my canopies! ;)

Great cook on a wonderful grill. You ARE the Master. On the other hand, someday I may forgive you for the Lime-A Rita. ;)
