Lump Grilled Salad Lunch and Select Sirloin for Supper

Haven't been eating much beef lately due to price, but $5/lb Select grade sirloin lured me in.
Had the butcher cut me 4 tri tips, and bought two smallish steaks.

1st things 1st, made myself a salad for lunch.
One large piece of lit lump on an inverted char-basket.
Romaine with garlic olive oil, Maldon salt, and fresh pepper.

Greens eaten, none needed for supper.

Kick started the steak cook with a Bloody Mary.

Steaks ready with garlic olive oil, Adams sear-n-char steak rub, plus extra garlic powder.

Grill grated over lump and Kb mix.

It sure satisfied my steak craving!

New record high here yesterday, it was 72F when I made lunch, 39F and windy at suppertime.
Woke this morning to 24F, sleet, and freezing rain. :(

Have a great week everyone!!

Excellent looking Bob. Not sure what I like more, the food or drink. Therefore I will take both, please. And that weather fluctuation, crazy, but it is that time of year.

Pictures and food look outstanding. What's the deal with inverted charcoal baskets? I use them all the time, but only right-side up. What don't I know?

Thanks guys!

Dean, cleaned with hot soapy water and a stiff nylon brush.

Teddy, since I was cooking the Romaine with only one piece of lump, I wanted it to be close to the cook grate.

Nice salad and steaks Bob, love those grill marks!
I've been very lucky lately the Frys store (Kroger) marks down their soon to expire meat everyday at 9am. I picked up three Tri Tips at $3.49 a pound and two cross rib roasts at $3.90 a pound two huge chuck roasts at $2.99 a pound and a pork bone in sirloin roast at $1.99 a pound. Plus beef short ribs and some chuck eyes at half off.
If it wasn't for that there wouldn't be much beef in this house ether.

Great plates Bob, love you salad will have to try that and the steaks grill marks are perfect. Just like Rich said, if it wasn't for the sales and mark downs on the beef we wouldn't be having it! Stay warm and enjoy a Mary for me!

w0w! you really know how to kick serious ***, doncha Correll??!!
HoleySmokes, The salad was AWESOME enough then you toss in the Steak GRILLED TO PERFECTION!

No **** that beef "sure satisfied (a) steak craving"....

Beautiful post, Bob - pics and meals.
We were watching a cooking show last night, and they were cooking up what looked like 2# Filet Mignons. Cindy sez: they sure look good, and I'm thinking there's a 50 dollar bill. But she put the order in, right?
