I tried a different setup on my kettlepizza this go around. I put a grate on top with foil and an additional pizza stone, trying to make a ceiling to cook the top of the pie.

Thank you to everyone for looking. I hope everyone had a happy and safe weekend. Let's get this Government mess figured out and everyone back on the payroll. Why am I still paying my taxes if the government can't pay it's people?
 
Nice pie! Great minds think alike: I just built my dough and it's in for the 24 hr rise for tomorrow night. I am shooting for the thin cracker crust.
 
did you modification work to you satisfaction? Sure looked like the top was cooked.

Paul, I felt that this mod cooked the top of my pie, however, the kettle didn't get as hot as in the past. I have had the needle buried before and this time the kettle barely got to 700. I had also foiled the bottom half of the charcoal grate and I can't help but wonder if both of these mods didn't allow the fire to get enough oxygen.

James - good looking pie!!! I was thinking about doing this exact set-up with my KP to reduce the amount of air volume to heat directly above the pizza stone so the top would cook as fast as the bottom. Looking forward to giving this a try!
 
Oh, man, that is one good looking pizza full of wonderful toppings.......I cook one at least several times a month, but none that looked that good..........I make my own dough, actually pretty easy........................d
