I don't mean to rub it in, but we had GREAT weather in Texas last weekend, and some of my family and I went camping. Drove from Austin to North Padre Island for some seclusion and fishing.
I cleaned the little Q up over the winter and got her all back in tip top shape.
Got down to the beach around 10am on Saturday, got camp set up and poles in the water.
Beer time!
Gettin' the Q ready for lunch. Just some dogs and some Meyer's Smoked Sausage.
Now time for dinner - moved the Q to halfway up a sand dune to block from the wind and be closer to the camp fire.
Started off with some chicken drumsticks rubbed with some Meat Church Hot Honey Hog... man this stuff is GOOD. Got the drums on first to let them render/cook longer:
Waiting on the food
I forgot to get the whole grill pic when it was loaded up, but I had this little sucker at capacity. After the drums started, got some boneless/skinless thighs rubbed in regular Meat Church Honey Hog, then after those got going, threw some cobs on and smothered them with some Meat Church Season All.
Overall, great trip, the Q worked well in the super beach wind. Also, this is the first time we went camping with a raised grill, and there was NO sand on the food, for anyone that has spent time beach camping, you know how much of a miracle this is!
