Just sharing my skyline series find!

Just wanted to share my find with you guys. I picked this baby up for $50 bucks including a full tank of propane. This is my first post but I have been scanning various threads on here and have been learning a lot. Thanks for all the info! Now back to the skyline, the guy I bought it from said he only used it a few times and it’s just been sitting in his garage. This thing is in awesome shape, the burners and flavorizer bars have very minimal rust. I hooked up the propane tank and she fired right up!

Now to the pics 😁 I have not done anything to it, this is exactly how I picked it up. After a nice wash she’s going to really stand out.

Juan,
You smacked that one all the way out of the park! I would have paid triple that with no hesitation. You got a near perfect rare grill. No dreaded fade on the hood like mine has, and yours looks like it has ealready been restored! I hope you give that one a really nice home.

Welcome to TVWBB and to our unofficial “Skyline Club!”

p.s. Now you need to repaint your logo and make the kettle red:cool:!

WOW! I cannot believe the condition of that grill. Jon, I don't think it has been restored, I think this is a case of a guy buys the grill 20 years ago, uses it twice, then wants it out of his garage. It's almost like those rare "new old stock" grills that we see from time to time that are not assembled yet, but this one is assembled.

Juan sir, you have just hit a grand slam. Somehow, you hit it at both parks in Chicago.

Wow!

Are you kidding me that grill needs nothing no paint on the frame literally nothing I would have paid well over $100, no doubt he or she had it in a garage its pretty obvious. Juan welcome to the forum you might have had the score of the year for this grill.

No, I totally agree that this is a miracle preservation grill. I just meant that it looks so nice that it looks as good as a restoration. Also, this is the big model with the side burner making it even more rare. Still has all the doodads. What a great find!

What a great find. I'm not sure I've seen a better looking grill for that low a price ever posted on this forum.

Thanks guys, the first thing I asked the man when I saw the grill was if he was the original owner and he replied YES. It is a EE code (1999) I also checked the propane tank and it was manufactured in 99. The tank has the quick connect valve on it and is full. I know whenever I run out of propane im going to have to buy an adapter to work with the original regulator hose.

Jon that red kettle is a nice touch! and I am happy to join the club, trust me this baby will be well taken care of. I plan to just leave her as she sits all original.
Thyde thanks brother!

I was planning on washing cleaning the grill this weekend but we have rain coming in soon.

$50!? You sure you didn't hold the seller at gunpoint when you paid him? LOL jk...you got an awesome grill at an even awesomer price! Congrats Juan!

That might be the find of the year right there. I don't know what else to say.

 no gun involved lol! The man was asking $80 for it, but I was able to negotiate a bit.

Definitely the best find of the year so far and it will be hard to surpass.
Bonus points for knocking off another $30.

Dude, go buy a lottery ticket you scored the find of the year with that puppy. That's in beautiful condition!

There is a lot of jealousy and envy going on here. Congratulations on that score.
Im sure its all in good spirit :o Thank bro!

You could turn around and sell that for a nice profit not that I would. Jon would be on his way cross country for that one. :)
For now its a keeper for sure. If I ever do decide to sell it, I would definitely sell it to somebody on here who can appreciate it.
