Italy, a Love Story

This may be my favorite all-time post on the forum! I think it ecompasses everything I love about grilling and this site. Celebrating great food, the power it has to bring family and friends together, and showing how versatile fire can be used to accomplish this. Thanks so much, Bill.

Great loving story and in the back that splendid Villa and landscape! I'm a little warried about meat quantity. It doesn't look enough for all the Gang!

Great post Bill! With awesome pictures. We have been traveling for 25+ years, and Italy is still
in the top 5, and one of the places we return again and again.

Can't add much Bill to the accolades already given here.
So I'll just say welcome home, and thanks for sharing your wonderful time with all of us!!

Bill, thanks for sharing the awesome vacation with us. I am usually very impressed with your cooks, this one was above and beyond. What a cool cooking area in that villa. The food and drinks look great.

Bill....beautiful story....beautiful pictures and beautiful cook! Thank you for sharing this experience with us, you are a good man with good family.

What a terrific post, Bill! Your trip to Italy looks like it was one for the ages. Feasts & family…can't beat that combination. I love your photos of the butcher shop and the live fire cooking --- that must have been fun. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, thanks for the fabulous comments. It was a special trip

And for Pete in PG, this is the name you want to google for the restaurant, nice place and food

Thanks Bill; love the pizza pics. I've bookmarked this restaurant and we'll check it out - it is tripadvisors no. 1 restaurant in Greve.

Bill;
Thanks MUCH for sharing your wonderful time with us. It reminds me of several trips my wife and I took to Bavaria to visit my oldest son and his family (he was in the military). Europe can be a wonderful place, indeed!!

Tuscany would be Number 1 on my travel list to Europe, for sure!

Keep on smokin',

This is one of my favorite posts yet, what a time you must have had. I love the way they cut those steaks, they looked like they were two inches thick from the pictures, how many of them did you cook, five?

My girlfriend was born in Italy and her family lived there quite a while on air force base they talk about the food a lot but claim they would never send someone on vacation there and talk about how filthy and run down everything is and that there are so many poor and homeless it's hard to talk down the streets ...however pictures always make it look great
