In need of a Summit gas grill valve

Do any of you guys have pictures of the original spit for a summit platinum or Vieluxe?

In 2003 there was a recall issued on Vieluxe and Weber Summit grills. It was for a faulty thermometer that may explode from heat. The recall encompassed three years of date codes on the Vieluxe, DA,DU, and DT. 2001-2003. There was only one date code for the Summit, DT. The numbers breakdown was 1,450 Vieluxe grills over three years and 43,000 Summit grills over one year. The Vieluxe was sold between 2001 and 2005. I don't know what the exact number made was, but if you take the information given you can make an educated guess of approximately 2,416 total Vieluxe grills ever made.

I am sure they sold something in the four digit range for the Veiluxe over its life span. But that could mean 1000 to 9999. Not sure where in there I would peg it, but probably in the lower half of that range. I have never seen one in real life and I don't know all that much about them so I cannot comment on whether there was one version or more made at a time or if there were actually two generations that they made.

Guys this is some great information that we are gathering here!
From pictures what I have seen the way that the emblems are on the front panel the knob bezels and the side burner grates are different on some.

Would this be a 2001?

That would be a 2001. It was manufactured in 2001, but could have been sold in 2002 or even later.

I figured the Vieluxe was the same size as the summit Platinum, I guess it’s bigger by a bit…

That Vieluxe is HUGE! Well, ok, maybe not that huge compared to the Summit 6-burner, but still looks large. I'd love to see more pictures of it.....never seen one myself. What kind of shape is it in TJ?

It is huge. I got it in the shop and was like, damn! More pics to come. It’s in good shape, but was left dirty for years. The flavorizer bar mounts are almost all broken, so she needs work. I did fire her off the other night and the burners look good.
