If you worked for Weber...

Cut a notch/slot in the top rim so you can run probe wires through to the top grate.

A popular DIY mod on kettles and WSMs. Better than having the round silicon cut out in the side of the WSM.
Ah, I gotcha. I don't necessarily know if I'd want it on all models, but I definitely see the appeal. Plus that would be tailor-made for the WSM!

It's time for Weber to forge their own path and stop trying to glob onto the current fad. They need to be the market setters not chasers. Go back to basics and back to what made Weber a treasure. I love the idea of a new/old Genesis 1000. I also think they can take the Kettle and tweak some things to make it look a little different and more with the times. Maybe offer a shelf again. Bring back the Baby Q in it's original quality, and add a few wrinkles. They need to find a way to market the WSK and sell it at a lower price and in different colors. They need to get that grill out in more stores, it is nearly impossible to find on a sales floor. I think the WSM, as great as it is, is a dying breed so I would not put much effort into that line. They need to design something that functions like a WSM but looks and operates a bit different so they can compete in the true smoking realm. But getting back to quality and sturdy builds is paramount.

Hey John, are you getting ideas to take back to the office?😉
Actually, John DID offer to be a liaison for this project, so I do plan on delivering some of this to him, it just may take a few weeks to collect everyone's responses and ideas and put it together in a formal presentation. I also posted this elsewhere (WKC, a Facebook group or two, etc.) so I'm hoping we as a big Weber community can cover a lot of ground here!

I know that whatever happens has to be something that makes money for the company.
I personally have a couple of early Genesis grills that I have fixed up so that they will last forever by welding up stainless steel frames for them, so it's unlikely that they will get any more money out of me for a new grill.
When Weber came out with the Genesis grills, they were (correct me if I'm wrong) twice the price of comparable grills.
Why not do it again? Build a simple grill, maybe a retro like the early Genesis grills that everyone loves, but build it to last forever! Good stainless for any rust prone areas, and upgrade options from there. That would make Weber the premium brand for years..
It might also be profitable to make stainless replacement parts available to those that have Weber grills that have rusted away. Better than ditching those that bought Weber grills who felt slighted and are looking elsewhere.

Well I’d like to see Weber keep the slate models going. I hope they don’t disappear after the BlackStone thing.

Some type of upgrade to the performer, maybe a therm instead of timer, cool colors. I wish everyone could try a performer it is the best grill for the price made. Once you use one you wonder why the heck you didn’t get one long ago. Maybe a 26” performer.

Accessories for the WSK.

Most importantly keep up the great customer service. It’s what makes me a lifetime Weber user.
