View attachment 118719I don't know why those look so ugly to me but you couldn't pay me to pick up one of those.
That probably was a crimson. The few I have seen always sell fast.I saw one of the lighter shades of red posted for sale earlier this summer. I assume that’s what you’re referring to as crimson? It was $200 and only listed a day or two. Was hoping it would have stayed and dropped in price.
I'll never come across that model for a reasonable amount of money in my area until they are rust buckets.Genesis ii era of grills is my second favorite with the top of the line LX being my temporary keepers. I currently have and use LX-240 and LX-340. I use to have an LX-440 also but sold it because the condition of it wasn't to my standards. Only one I haven't owned is the LX-640. I almost picked one up about a month ago but it was a bit far. I think I have owned every model of Genesis ii line except LX-640 It's the last one of the Genesis ii line I'd like to own. I'm not usually into big grills but I'd run this with a 2 burner as my main grill. I could easily fit a couple pizzas in that LX-640 and one in my LX-240. I often grill 3 pizzas at the same time.

Josh, I'm certain you are more of an expert on these newer grills than I will ever be as I've never actually owned one. I still don't think I could adjust to north south burners on a grill that I personally use, but I would pick one up if the price is right and flip it of course. I have recently become more open minded by using a Genesis Gold C from 2002 as my everyday grill as opposed to a Genesis 1000 that I'm used to since 1998. I've also never owned another brand of grill but a Weber, because when you start off with something that good you develop brand loyalty which is something else that seems to be rare these days. Still, I try to pay some attention to the newer stuff and appreciate their good points.I actually have never seen a rusted out Genesis ii. Not in my area yet but I don't expect them to last like a classic x000 and I have seen them in pictures from different areas of the country in rough condition.
I have been using mine for more years than I can remember almost every day and they are out in the elements. They are still in excellent condition.
My 2007 Genesis I bought new, the last sidewinder generation rusted out quickly under the same conditions. Maybe because the bottom of the cart is closer to the ground.
