I will just leave this here

Well I brand new current model is a piece of junk compared to this though. I wouldn't pay $700 for a new one either.
Nope. But people unlike us, tend to like the new shiny stuff. I have done some scrub and sells lately. Honestly for profitability those are way better than the full on rehabs. But I don't really do it just for the money. It is a cool hobby, and I know people are getting something quality for their money.

I am actually putting one together now from my "meh" parts bin for a local guy who just went thru some wild cancer, and treatment/recovery. He is good friends with my brother and sister in-law. They're buying the parts (perfect timing with prime days) and I am giving them the frame, lid and cook box. Lid is pretty badly faded, but they don't care.

Seems to me that Genesis 2/2000 has had some restoration. Double drop down tables aren't shown in the brochures I've seen on other than 4000+, so I would think they added it....
They did something to it, if it's a 3 or 3000 it should only have a side burner on the right side.

I would think it was most likely ordered like this or done when purchased new.

If it is infact a 3 maybe the dealer gave them the option of a side burner or a Right flip table.

Hard to say for sure but it doesn't look like the flip table was recently added.

Wish I could grab it for $500

I think you're right. I think it was the 4 you could get both swing tables with or without side burner.
The Genesis 4/5 that I restored this year was born as a 4 with dual drop down shelves and no side burner. The PO added the side burner to make it a 5.

But, that brings up another point. My 4 (i had the original owners manual) had the glass cabinet. The grill we are talking about had the dual tables but no cabinet, so I would say it was a 3.

Would you say all Genesis 4 grills came with a glass cabinet?

Josh, I am just posting what I know. I am fulling willing to admit that a Genesis 4 could have come from the factory with out the cabinet.
One thing to keep in mind is that a Genesis 4 in 1986 might not have the exact same configuration as one built in 1989, despite being listed as the same model. Kind of like a 1968 Chevy Camero vs a 1971 Chevy Camaro. Very different vehicles.
