I will just leave this here

I've honestly given up on a perfect skyline lid. Mine will used as a parts grill or built with a different lid. I'm over it. It's not on my list anymore.
I have too, if I stumble on one some day that's fine. I'm probably going to use the bottom wire rack from mine on my next restoration. My Skyline lid isn't the worst one I've ever seen and I will part with it if someone asks.

Yup. Almost looks like a green mica. Haven’t cleaned it at all to investigate more. Just moved it back into the stash. I was kinda confused by what happened here. Middle knob melted onto the control panel.

Any thoughts from the brain trust? There’s no soot or anything. Strange

I have seen several of those. Not sure if a burner is getting loose and blowing flames under the control panel or if it was just a bad grease fire that pushed flames out through the burner holes and under the control panel.

I have a Platinum C like that with pieces of the knob still melted onto the valve and control panel. No signs of fire in the firebox. I wondered what could cause that but haven't dug into it yet. I snagged a beaten up Silver C for a replacement panel, manifold or valve, expecting the worst.
