I will just leave this here

I hope you or Stephan snag that one.

Yes I have seen that green grill. But I am not interested in getting it. After my previous unsuccessful unloading of a green Genesis grill I don't want another one. Green does not sell well here. I picked up a cheap green premium kettle in excellent shape some time ago which was listed for weeks with no other takers. Plus at $125 there is not much margin left depending on what needs to be fixed. As crooked as the doors are there might be rust in the cabinet.

There are some other options out there:

And this Platinum has been out there for weeks. Down to $100 from $180. But I don't really need another Platinum frame since I already have two.

Not sure if these are worth it:

I always do wel with green. Funny how some markets are different.
The first 3 you listed are fairly old ads. I would be surprised if they are still available,
but if so, they should be ready for a much lower offers.
I would likley try buy the platinum at a lower price.
I would have already bought both Spirits and had parts on order.
I have done very well with those this year.

Stefan: You have two Stainless steel frame platinums??

Yes. This one which I had for a while

I got another free one a few weeks ago which I am going to convert into a prep table and table for my Q-1200.
It needs to have the end pieces welded. They seem to fail on all Platinums I have seen so far. I already gutted it. If someone needs the knobs, control panel or tables let me know. I give them away for free. Shipping costs only. But one of the fold up tables is cracked in the front.

OK. I would grab any SS Platinum I could get my hands on as long as the price was right. $100 is too much for that grill you linked to, but they may take a low ball offer at this point.

I just wish it was possible to find one around here that wasn't rotted out.

Did that blue head come with the black handles, knobs and control panel or did you add them? It is a great look with the Blue lid.

I am starting to see some great rehab deals in the Minneapolis area. I am having a hard time not jumping on a couple of them. I am thinking that maybe the big box stores are finally starting to mark their stock down and people are jumping for a new grill now.

Funny thing is that there is not much of anything popping up around me lately.

I would have liked this one if not just for the end handles and black knobs and blue lid.

Yes this is a nice one. I would be tempted to swap my old style blue lid for that blue lid.

If you can make the distance worthwhile I would definitely grab that one. I personally really like that later Silver hood. A blue one- with a pinstripe no less - is a pretty uncommon find. Mostly run if the mill stuff stuff around me right now.

Yah, I really like that lid as well. And the black plastic parts are a big bonus IMO. I might see if my sister can grab it for me.

I have to quit posting grills on here. You guys talked me into another one. My sister will be picking it up tomorrow if the weather is OK and it isn't snowing.

I am already thinking that lid and control panel and knobs and handles might wind up on my SS Platinum along with one of my #9057 grill out handle lights.

Lots of good inexpensive Silver B/C rehab candidates popping up in the Twin Cities. I wish I had room to store them for next year.

Ummmmmm, yah Stefan, almost exactly like that, but for a couple small differences. First, my grill won't have the cabinet due to more of the existing cabinet being missing due to rust than what is left. Second, the lid I want to use will have the newer rounded style which will negate me using a #9057 Grill out handle light (bummer) and third, I will hopefully be able to resurrect the original tables with the stainless inserts, but if not, I will go with the Silver B style like yours. In fact, mine will have a rotisserie just like yours. I may have to rethink the lid thing so that I can use a grill out handle light though. But, I really like the blue either way.

And now you just made me realize that I will be a black knob short for the side burner....:(

Hey Stefan, do you have a photo of the inside of the cabinet on that grill. I just want to see if one actually exists that isn't rusted out.....I am thinking Texas is a bit more friendly to them than the upper midwest.

I think you can buy one of those side burner knobs in black directly from Weber. I have to say, though, that painting that knob has worked out in the end for me. It isn't like your main knobs that get used constantly. So, some decent Krylon or Rustoleum satin black would probably do the trick, even if you have to re-paint every few years.

I would be torn, too, about the lid & handle choice. I do like the newer lid, and with a black handle - and a black version of one of those more recent (not the newest) Weber handle lights that fits that handle - you would have something that would be really nice and a handle that curves away from the hot lid. The way Stefan has his, though, is equally nice in my view.

That is another plus about the old Weber handle light since it also puts your hand further away from the lid. I certainly like the classic straight wood handles, but you can burn your knuckles if you are not careful!
