I will just leave this here

I have plans for it. I was going to attempt a make two genesis golds into one… however the rot of the frames is more work than it’s worth to try and save either. The one is rock solid where the cookbox bolts thru but where the frame extensions bolt on its shot. The one with the rotten cookbox bolt, is shot where the legs bolt on. So sadly, they are getting scrapped. Oddly, the one on the left is an NG grill but had tank bumpers on the frame. That was the donor manifold for Steve’s Gold C.

That sucks. You would think you would be able to get one good grill out of the two. I have seen other NG grills that had the tank bumpers on them for some reason.

I’ve still got two other Gold C’s in the stash. The one I looked over and looks like a prime candidate.

Do not throw away those wire racks on those Gold's. They are great for Silver C's and especially Platinum's.
Oh no. I’m a hoarder of those kinds of things. They stuff that doesn’t take up much space, I keep.

Especially when you get a grill that has the metal tray bottom instead of the rack. Those Silver and Golds got cheaper as they went along.
It’s funny how all 3 were NG, all 2003’s from the same neighborhood. It makes sense though, because that neighborhood was being developed when I was in high school

I finally got around to deep cleaning up the two Qs I picked up several months ago yesterday!!!! I took Mr Moriarty's advise and picked up some of this Oven & Grill Cleaner from the Chef Store - he claims its just as good as the cleaner from Sam's Club and its cool that its only $9 for a gallon!

I have to say it worked really good! Quite a bit of scrubbing needed, but it got the grills squeaky clean! I was pretty disappointed that I wasn't getting down to 'bare' aluminum on the one lid.... 3 rounds of cleaning..... and thats when I finally realized that the INSIDE of the lid was painted/colored black !!!...???...!!!! I wasn't expecting that....

I've got some touch up painting to do on one to get it ready to list and I'm looking forward to giving the other one a couple of cooks to see if I'm going to add it to the herd for the long term. I have to say --- I'm really impressed with the 'heft' quality of these little grills..... this is my first 'hands on' experience with one (two).

I thought I should throw this out here just in case ---- I was just checking Q prices on Home Depot and saw the the Q2800N is on sale for $319!!!! One of those "see low price in the cart" deals.... Not bad when reg price is $459.
If you have been thinking about one, seems like now is a good time to act!
