I will just leave this here

My wife can never see this website!!! I may have access to a paint booth soon, so she'll never need to see the "sausage being made." I plan on a lid cleanup, and painting the end pieces. I will probably not touch the cook box yet.
If I had access to a paint booth I'd remove the cookbox and paint the cookbox and end caps at the same time. I'd also scuff and spray the frame while its apart and touch up any rust on the manifold mounts. Its a little more work though you'll end up with a Silver C that looks new.

You may be without a grill for a week or so while you are prepping it for paint and painting it so you may want to pickup a curb find to have to cook on while your Silver C is getting freshened up. And then you can fix up the curb find and flip it or keep it as a spare.

And that ladies and gentlemen is how Weberitis spreads :D

edit: check out the drab-to-fab thread for more tips

I was in Home Depot this morning and had a chance to look at the new Spirit grills. I think they are pretty darn nice for the money. They seem better overall quality than the past 7-8 years.
It's definitely interesting to check out all the new models out now and its been interesting to compare throughout the generations from one generation to the next from 1985-now
