Yep, that one is pretty bad. The grates will actually fall into the grill when you scrub them off.A good example of a bowed cook box?View attachment 86215
I can confirm it has gone to a good homeView attachment 86160https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1183223306397179/?mibextid=dXMIcH. This is a little out of my price range but this is the one to get if you want one of these.
You can? Good for you!I can confirm it has gone to a good home
Thanks, I will get it stripped, cleaned and looking brand new asap! Only obvious issue is the 2 warming lids have missing enamel, i may get them re enameled in a color perhaps. Rest of the grill is in amazing condition including the flavorizer bars. The grates are SS and ultra heavy duty, they just need a sparkle. One thing not included was any CI griddle, I will need to measure up tomorrow to see what if any weber inserts fit. The weber crafted would be cool if correct size!!You can? Good for you!
It's not aluminum, it's porcelain coated steel so be very careful with it. I wouldn't do anything more aggressive than what you might do to a Genesis 1000 lid to get it clean. I'm glad someone on the forum got it, it does look like a beauty. It appears the cookbox is aluminum and was painted on the inside from new it seems, I may consider getting sand blasted.
Steve, The image below where you can see paint missing, this appears to be aluminum but i cannot get a proper look until tomorrow. It's not aluminum, it's porcelain coated steel so be very careful with it. Thanks, that makes sense apart from the aluminum is painted black it seems which is unusual right?Hi Paul,
The endcaps on the summit firebox are cast aluminum. The body of the forebox is porcelain enamel steel
Because everyone freaks out at the prospect of there being any paint on the inside of a grill. All of the models had the aluminum parts painted black. Not sure why it's found to be unusual
Hard to tell from the photos that there is or is not paint in there. Mine was bare aluminum inside painted outside.Because everyone freaks out at the prospect of there being any paint on the inside of a grill.
