Cool. It looks good.
Cool. It looks good.
Or just post up a good array of photos of the grill and let us argue over it in threads such as this one. That is funny! Really though, with the internet it's not that hard to identify a grill.
Hey Steve, you are correct. Google helps you locate information out there, but that information needs to be created, catalogued and organized for Google to find it. Presently, I have not been able to find a website with pictures and information about ALL Weber grills. That is funny! Really though, with the internet it's not that hard to identify a grill.
The Gemini, came just before the Apollo…Here is a real Weber Unicorn. Never knew they made a Gemini grill.

Yes, exactly what i described a few posts up. Over the years, these grills get modified quite often by owners.Yep Larry, that is what I meant with "special editions". Throw in the Costco special edition grills in modern times. I think ACE and other sellers had signature editions as well. Then you could lump in the "Snap On" "Kroger" and other logo grills.
I have been looking for an Apollo for years. I think that USA lettering along the side of it is soooo cool. The Gemini, came just before the Apollo…
Hey Bruce, look at the label on the frame. You actually explained that people mix and match parts from other grills, a couple of weeks ago on this other post:Yes, exactly what i described a few posts up. Over the years, these grills get modified quite often by owners.
I don't think any Silver B grills came with the SS lid or that SS panel along the front. My guess is that your grill is mostly a Genesis Gold. Why do you say it is a Silver B?
Now that's an interesting piece of information that I never knew. I had always guessed that the old platinum series grills were only sold by certain retailers also. Does anyone know that one?Add to that specials for only one reseller i.e. the Skyline being made only for Sears, and so on
The Platinum series was a general offering the Weber did. Maybe not readily available at every outlet, but not specific to any retailer. The Skyline and even today some special colors (think Ace "Indigo") were retailer specific. One of the first grills I did was a "Mica" dark grey old x000 Genesis with durawood that was a special edition for Target. Now that's an interesting piece of information that I never knew. Thanks Jon, I always enjoy learning about the history .The Platinum series was a general offering the Weber did. Maybe not readily available at every outlet, but not specific to any retailer. Bruce,Jon, one of the grills I have for sale now (actually spoken for) is "Mica Black". But looks more like a dark grey. Is that the one you are talking about for Target stores?
You made that baby new again! Where did you have it displayed?Bruce,
I think there is a good chance that it is. Here is a picture of mine after I restored it (before joining TVWBB and learning so much, including from you. I used SANDPAPER to clean the inside of the firebox!) The dark gray knobs I believe are for a Platinum series and maybe even the first generations Summit.
