I will just leave this here

That Platinum B grill in the DFW area has now been reduced for $40:
Location, location. A guy here has a decent one except he removed the back (I am sure because of rust). He has marked it down - now “just” $280😲.

Yep. Ten minutes with a bucket of soapy water and a garden hose would make that grill look a lot better. No photo of the inside of the cabinet either.

So I was rehabbing a Weber Q Lid for resell, and after taking a wire brush to it, I think I'm going to keep the lid and keep it as is (I can always paint it in later). :P

That is an interesting idea, however, I dont think it will stay nice an shiny like that. It will oxidize over time probably. But, then, like you say, a quick clean up and you can paint it any time you like. If you do, I hope you go with some cool color.

Maybe I'll let my kids choose the choose the color, will take a picture once they decide.

I like how the guy includes a Genesis Silver B owners manual with a Summit six burner.

Another of my favorite old first generation Summits, although I don't like the stainless lid. Look at those thick stainless grates with the fold-up opening for the smoker box underneath! Puts the smoker box where Larry says it needs to be but allows easy access without removing a grate like the "lesser" old Genesis Smoke and Steam.

No way is he going to get $600 or anywhere near that. The cabinetry might surprise you, though, because on these grills the bottom was a wire rack that allowed water to drain rapidly producing less moisture and no water pooling.
