How cold does it have to be for you to not BBQ?

smokin'.... any temp, really. in -5ºF many times... I've smoked in minus 9ºF (the lowest I remember)
set it up, get the meat on and watch it from inside.

grillin'... a different story.
when you need to hang around for a while in the cold can freeze off your kadoongas... and that ain't fun.

leave the beer indoors. it freezes faster than you can open it.

Well, because of this thread, I've decided to do my first winter smoke this weekend. 2 pork butts on the 18.5". Supposed to be around freezing here on Sunday, so that will be my day, although I will put it on on Saturday night. I'm so anxious to eat that pulled pork again!

Webers don't know when its TOO cold... I dont stare at grill, I have a wireless temp and that is my dummy... When it is cold, I stoke, When it is Hot, I damper.. Singles digits is as low I have gone...

lol too cold. I MIGHT not smoke if there's a foot of snow I have to shovel or trudge through. Maybe.

The snowmelt pattern around a hot WSM is one of my favorite things.

My record was -27F Christmas Eve 1983 in Northern Illinois, grilling steaks on the kettle. Now I am older
and supposedly wiser, so if I can't hide out in Florida I use the fireplace on the really cold days.

Couple weekends ago I did a butt and it was 8 degrees when I fired up at 3:00am. I have been known to shovel snow to get to the smoker also. Kinda like smoking/grilling in the cold.

A tad chilly here today. Planning on a cook this evening.

Umm, being your typical, laid-back Angeleño, I'd say mid-50s or so. If I had a parka I think I could go to perhaps 49, but that would be extreme! ;) As for too hot, it's never too hot in California!

I smoke when my freezer is empty. I smoked once in low 20's and a few times in high 90s with 60% humidity. I prefer cooking in colder weather because I sweat like a pig.

Been out in the mid twenties. This Saturday morning is forecast to be around 8ºF. We'll see how I make out. Maverick ET-732 is a nice way to monitor temps and keep warm at the same time.

maybe when Hell freezes over? An electric Cookshack, insulated Backwoods and BGE will always be ready to serve it up if it gets way too cold.

Never mind the cold. When there's enough snowfall to completely cover my smoker, that's it for me. Like today for example.
