Holiday beginnings!

We all have a ton of projects lined up for the weekend so, this was Saturday dinner!
The salad was well received, needed more cucumber for me.
Keri’s apple beans were a bit too sweet even though I dropped the additional brown sugar out completely,
How can boiled garlic baby potatoes ever be bad?
Sorry, I didn’t get any shots of made up strawberry shortcake they went like the dew before the sun!
As always, a lovely loin of pork! Slicing some for sandwiches to take to the air show! Not sure what else I will take but, it should be fun.
Strip steaks for Monday!

Great looking spread, Timothy! I'll be those shortcakes did go quickly! :) Which I could share a pork loin sandwich with you at the air show! Hope they've got some exciting and exotic aircraft to show off! :)

Yes, the shortcakes were “by my hand” in small removable bottomed tart pans, I used to make full size Ones but if they don’t get eaten right away the tend to get soggy, I have one grandchild that rarely eats desserts at all and the other is depending on how she feels, she’s more likely to take it home and have it for breakfast (completely understand that!!).
The air show was pretty good, I prefer The Blue Angels but, the Thunderbirds don’t suck! Got a bit more sun that was probably wise and a little windburn but, I’ll live to grill steaks this evening.
Rich, there was an F-35, F-18, the Team F-16’s but, that was the screaming jet portion. Kalamazoo used to have a really amazing air show, one year we had a couple of Russian MIG 25’s (I think) when the blue angels were here, had the Golden knights Army parachute team, C-5a Galaxy, and a TON of stuff that was one of the best I’ve ever seen! I actually paid to walk around that one. The lead pilot from the Blue Angels and one of the MiG pilots swapped planes for a short show, as I recall they both got pretty well chewed out for that little stunt but, when they got back down and were back shaking hands with folks they both said it was pretty cool.
